Hi,
I have a suggestion for a feature for a new version of Quickroute:
A route measurement tool to draw on a map and get the true length of the drawn line. I would like to compare alternative routes (ignoring the possible difference in terrain and hence maximum speed) on a map. For example for Sprint orienteering, that would be great help to evaluate and improve future route choices. Like I did on http://jgeo.nl/o/2012/06/08/zo-moet-het-dus-lenteloop-complex-zuid/ (but there I used Mapsource, which is not a good options when you don't have accurate topo maps of the area).
When the map is calibrated with the GPS track, than the true distance/scale of the map is known to the program.
Such a tool could for example compare multiple alternative routes that you drew on the map, and show them in colour according to the shortest-longest ratio. Something, like having the next route snap to the start and end of the previous drawn route, could ensure that identical legs are compared.
Would that be an idea? Are there more people that would like such a feature?
